Joyce A. Porter

My name is Joyce A. Porter and I live in Charlotte,  North Carolina, USA.  I am 70 years old and a Consultant, specializing in health related issues. I graduated from Wake Forest University with a BS degree in Medical Technology in 1957. I did virus research at Bowman Gray School of Medicine, working on the polio and measles vaccines. I subsequently married, and after raising my family, returned to graduate school at the University of NC at Chapel Hill where I obtained an MSW. I worked for 5 years with Family and Children’s Services and then in a private practice for the next 22 years.

During those years, I began to notice a direct correlation between unresolved emotional issues and specific diseases. In 1991 I was introduced to what is now called “Energy Psychology” and have been deeply involved in that area of healing since that time.  I “retired” for a bit at age 65, but soon discovered I would always be involved with people and forwarding life on the planet. (That has always been a passion, in fact, I led courses for Landmark Education Corporation for 10 years out of that passion).

In April 2003, I received an e:mail telling me about this coaching company who helps people produce results in their life, and it is done over the computer and telephone. I thought a friend had sent it to me, so I responded. I think that was just God’s way of getting me connected with my next support system because, as it turned out, I didn’t know the person who sent that e:mail to me. I participated in all the courses TSI had to offer and decided this company provided a place for me to live the kind of fulfilled, balanced living I had always wanted.  My coaches were Cliff Stockamp and Bill Bailey . At first I was disappointed in the coaching as I was expecting some new information. I was quickly reminded that these courses are intended to provide a safe environment in which people can produce the results they’ve always wanted and never been able to produce, so now I want to tell you what has happened in my life as a result of participating with this company.

Physically: I had been about 20 lbs over weight for a number of years. I now exercise regularly at least 3x weekly, have lost 18 pounds, have a normal % body fat for my age, have a normal cholesterol, normal blood pressure and don’t take any medication.

Family: I used to live 2 ½ hours away from my son and grandson and now live 30 minutes away—I have regular “evenings over” with my grandson and able to  play a bigger role in his life.  I have a great relationship with my brother and his family, participating with them in major events in their lives.  I participate in a yearly reunion of 3 generations of women in my Mother’s family(both my parents are deceased) and am in regular contact with cousins still living in my father’s family. I originally joined TSI to be coached by men in creating a long term relationship with a man. I have begun dating, however, the big thing I discovered is that I am happy and can have a fulfilled life with or without a man. There is nothing lacking, only possibility to cause.

Socially: I have lunch or dinner with friends weekly. I have just returned from a 10 day trip to the wonderful mountains of NC. The big focus currently is a celebration of life event on June 11th to celebrate my 70th birthday. Friends from all areas of my life throughout my life time will be there.  

Career: I have a new career with Total Success Institute. I am currently an Intermediate Coach in Training, soon to be a Lead Coach. I have also built a consulting practice from nothing in the last 7 months. I am consulting with businesses as well as individuals in keeping lines of communication open and employees well.

Financially: This is the area in which I was the most stressed when I came to TSI. I was $100,000 in debt and seeing no way to really reduce it. What I want you to know is that I am currently debt free except for my car payment.  I have drastically changed my lifestyle and am much happier living within my income.

I feel so strongly about TSI and their coaching courses that I entered their training program to become a coach. As I see it, there are many opportunities for information in the current market place, but there are rare places that provide a safe environment and team building for producing extraordinary results in ones life. Because TSI is an international company, I have the opportunity for feedback from a variety of cultures and schools of thought. It is indeed a rich environment for accomplishing what one wants while at the same time being of service. The cost for this opportunity is very reasonable, making it accessible to most people.. The coaches I had were Cliff Stockamp who listens and tells the truth with compassion. He is willing to be vulnerable and real, which spoke volumes to me. Bill Bailey was more my age, very bright and had a wealth of experience to draw upon.
